So my check engine light has been flashing while accelerating to speeds 55 MPH+ on the highway. I decided to make a stop at Autozone to have them pull the codes for me with the complimentary code reader. I could have done so myself, but hell, it was quicker since it was on the way anyhow. Here's the codes that they gave me:
The first was 11 - System Pass.
The second stored in the computer was 35 - PFE or EVP circuit above closed limit.
Now, I'm not really sure what that means, but it's coming straight from the book. It sounds electrical and someone else said it had something to do with the EGR valve or emissions control. Either way, the CEL is flashing and it is probably something that should be fixed. What are your thoughts?
Thanks for confirming the info I asked for. Just making sure the two digit codes are relevant to your truck. Ford started to transition to 3 digit codes in 1991.

Any time! I apologize for leaving that out in my first post. Personally, I think the EGR valve is probably junk as well since it's likely been on the truck since 1988. My Haynes manual is telling me "KOEO and Continuous codes: 35 and 337, EVP circuit above maximum voltage - Perform EVP circuit check." I assume that means to test the sensor itself, given what the link is you showed me, and what Subford said as well? I'll have to get my hands on a quality multimeter if that's the case.
A basic $10 meter from Harbor Freight will do the trick. More than likely the EVP is bad but it is best to verify before blindly changing parts. You will find a small investment in tools will pay for themselves in short order.
