check engine light
I'm driving a 94 F250 4X4,351,AT,3'' dual exhaust.When I drive on the hiway the check engine light comes on but in town it doesnt.It has new plugs,cap,rotor,pcv,thermostat and temp.sensor.Any ideas would be much appreciated

I have a 97 with the 351 Iwas having trouble on the highway with the light coming on checked the codes came up with bad o2 sensor it fixed mine.I have been told that the egr valve can also cause the light to come on.I borrowed a code scanner to find out what it was finally.

Hi bsmith8 and welcome to FTE 
You'll have to get it scanned for codes to lead you in the right direction. If the Check Engine light was on there should be a code or codes stored in memory. It could be any one of a number of sensors etc that is the problem.

You can pull the codes yourself at home anytime with a paperclip. The Haynes manual has the best instructions.
