Have a 2007 Mercury Mountaineer with power 3rd row seats that have only worked several times, bought vehicle new, can hear motor running but seats do not budge
How do you disconnect the motor/latch assembly from the seat? I do not
want to put in another latch assembly but want to manually raise and lower the seat. Has anyone done this before?
I have the same problem with my 06 mountaineer 3rd row power seat. I
would like to operate it manually and not put in a new latch assembly. Does
anyone ever answer these questions?
I just recently had to replace the seat motor on our 2008 Explorer, it's not the hardest job in the world to do, just more frustrating than anything else. The piece that's annoying is having to buy an entire $275 piece when its likely just something minor in the motor that went out.
Give it a couple hours to do getting the seat and old motor/bracket out and the new one in. If you have the budget I would seriously consider doing both at the same time.
