Have 2007 Mercury Mountaineer Premier with powered 3rd row seats. Only worked three times and now they will not open and when we got one to go up we had to manually turn the rod to get it to go back down.
According to the diagram, you have two fuses in the underhood fuse box that feeds this circuit. Fuse 12, 30 amp, and fuse 5, 30 amp. These fuses feed power to the seats, but before the power gets there, it has to go through two relays. The relays have to be activated by the computer system, that's what the blue line in the diagram is that goes to the "smart junction box".
You might need to get the owners manual out. There is some mode or some sort of interlock or something that will not activate the relays at certain times, and thus not let the seats work. You may already know what this is, possibly the owner's manual will tell you, possibly you could call the dealer and someone would know, or probably someone on here will run across this and know what it is. That's if your fuses are good.
