Funny how GOVCO is mandating higher MPG's in new cars while forcing increased levels of ethanol in fuel that actually reduces MPG. How does that make sense?
Here, in Canada:

The gasoline now has ethanol in it.
2 years ago I got my wife an equinox, rated at 36, or 38? mile per gallon.
We bought it with 20,000 km's on it. it was the sport model. costed 35,000$.

It gets 18-20 MPG.

We would have bought a crew cab ecoboost.

Should be, apparently the government doesn't have to abide by laws, only create them.

I could tell you that, but I'd be lying.

Ford actually owned part of Kia in the 80s and 90s. The Festiva was basically designed by Mazda, but built by Kia. The Aspire was 100% Kia.

Hyundai now owns 51% of Kia, only because they outbid Ford.

I think it has more to do with patent protection and production costs.

you can't tell me they don't have the cash to afford that kind of thing . good gosh they charge anyone who uses the ford name on a reproduction part , if approved , a fee to use the logo etc . and they have to be making something off the cars and trucks they sell or they wouldn't be doing it . i think it's just because the toy co. has got all the bugs worked out and ford was to lazy to do it themselves ................ and on the subject of the thread , it's amazing that any car company period can get away with false advertising and not be sued , fined etc. . if any of us had a company and sold a product that didn't live up too it's claims well .......... isn't there a truth in advertising law or some such thing ??????? anything they claim needs to be taken with a huge dose of cynicism as you know they've bull ****ted a little bit ........... i mean come on we all know yugo's were superbly built PERFORMANCE cars capable of 200 plus mph now don't we ...................
