I replaced the lift pump not long ago and I had the start and stall problem before I replaced the pump. I thought the pump was leaking but after I replaced it I found it was the return line on the injector above it that was leaking. I guess I could put the old pump back on to check to see if that was the problem. I was wondering why there was not a check valve in the pump. Maybe the pump was bad new but its an Airtex and I assume it's the same one you recommended. If the pump has a check valve then why would air intrusion ever cause the fuel to drain back into the tank?
