Ford F-250 1997 7.3 power stroke diesel engine Air in fuel line problem.
The truck will run for a while then it stops and I must bleed air out of the bleeder valve on the side of the fuel filter. Then it will start again. Air doesn't seem to be able to go out anywhere. Fuel is hot. Can't understand where air comes from.
We changed fuel filter, took the assembly apart and cleaned it all.
Tried to put an electric fuel pump in front of the full tank to make sure there is pressure.
Can’t find any fuel leaks.

yes, we get fuel out of the schrader valve. I now learned this is a 2 stage mechanical fuel pump. Looks like the 2nd stage that builds the pressure up to 60 lbs may have a leak,... or the seal around the injectors,.... Either way it's sucking air somewhere.
I'm borrowing a fuel pressure meter for tomorrow,....
Also check your lines to your tanks. I had a 99.5 and it had a bad problem with sucking air. I cut off the quick connectors and used hose clamps. One quick way to tell is to put a clear fuel between the tank and the fuel filter.
