A4LD shifting problems

When I drive, my Bronco II stays in first gear for a really long time. Once the transmission warms up it will shift correctly as long as it is hot. As soon as it cools down, same problem again. I have been told it is the torque converter, modulator valve, gasket for the filter, and/or dirty fluid. Transmission has just been installed on it and it has new filter and fluid. As far as I remember, transmission was fine when it was in my other Bronco II. I do remember buying a modulator for that transmission as well.

Anyone have any clues as to what this might be? I need my vehicle back!

If it were the gasket for the filter or similarly, low fluid, the transmission will just quit working. I have had that to happen and have had the transmission fail completely. I've not had a failure to shift with mine. If you still have the problem, try posting your question on the Ranger forum also, as the running gear is common between the two vehicles.
