First fuel filter change

My new to me KR has 71,000 miles on it and after reading multiple posts on fuel filter changes decided it was time for me to get mine done. Combined some information together to work my change, first I took the fuel take cap off so it could vent, changed the engine filter first, then opened the water drain underneith and let it drain to a stop. Total fuel leakage was about a 1/4 full coffee can, no diesel bath, I might still end up as backyard diesel mechanic yet with the help of this forum, just like I was with my old V10.

Sounds like you learned from our mistakes...any trouble priming it?

Also did you look deep into the fuel bowl? Was it nice and clean?

Haven't primed it yet, I stunk too much to dare to get in my truck, plus about that time those pesky trick or treater's started showing up so maybe tonight. I still want to put on my block heater cord and high idle mod while it's in the garage so maybe later tonight I'll bitch and moan about not being able to start it.

Both filter housing's were nice and clean, did get a few particles of dirt/sand in the bottom of the coffee can from the water drain. I did make a minor mess when putting on the engine filter, even after oiling the seal it stuck and that extra push splashed diesel around my engine bay, kinda pissed me off but I GUESS THAT'S A LESSON LEARNED!
