2002 Explorer Flex Plate Bolts

2002 Explorer Flex Plate Bolts
I'm replacing the 4.0 V6 in my wife's 2002 Explorer and need to remove the flex plate from the crankshaft. The flexplate bolts appear to be a Torx drive #T55 but I don't have Torx sockets, only Torx bits. However, the ridges on the flexplate bolts are smoother than my Torx bit so I'm not sure if they're Torx drive.
Has anyone removed one of these flex plates and can you confirm that these bolts are infact Torx drive?
