I've been trolling around the net looking for info and parts availability for my '66 and have noticed different models and parts. Specifically I've noticed NOS gauges that would not work in my standard cab, and seen round tail lights rather than rectangular. I'm assuming this has to do with model differences (standard vs custom, straight side vs. step side) but I'd like to learn more about my model year.
I bought a book called "1965-66 Ford F100 to F250 Illustrated Facts and Feature Manual", produced by Jim Osborn Reproductions and licensed by Ford Motor Co. Can't remember where I bought it, possibly from National Parts Depot, but it didn't cost too much and is quite useful. I'm sure other vendors have it as well, or you could e-mail Jim Osborn Reproductions Inc.. Good luck.

Round tail lamps: Found on 1957/60 Styleside beds that were also installed on: 1961/65 F100/250 4WD's, 1961/66 F350's, 1962/63 F100/250 2WD's, 1966 F250 4WD's.
1965/66 F100/250 2WD Custom Cabs/Rangers have a plastic chrome instrument cluster bezel with a sweep speedometer. The optional Oil/Amp gauges are round.
just giving them an idea of what it looked like ND out of all the trucks like mine around here mine is the only one with this gauge cluster that i have seen at least
there are different types of guage clusters too this is out of my 66
That is the same gauge cluster as mine, except, out to the left I have a round ammeter and out to the right a round oil pressure gauge. But has the idiot lamps too.
