starter fit question
Ok I have a 70 f100 that I got with no motor in it. It has a 3 speed manual trans. and originally had a 302. I took a 302 out of a 83 bronco and put in the truck, so I had to get a 164tooth 50oz flywheel out of an 84 f150 to make the swap work. Now I have the motor installed and trying to figure out what starter to buy. Do I get the starter for the 70 model truck or for 84 model truck? does it matter? From the info I have found as long as the starter is from a truck with a 3 or 4 speed manual trans. with a 302 the year should not matter. Is this correct?

I would get the 84 ,but the other one should fit too. Make sure it's not for an auto trany. , standard only.I just did about the same thing ,85 302 in a 73 f-100. Used a 85 starter.
