Or go with the larger 460 engine till 89. My 85 was not limited to unleaded fuel so cats were not realisticly possible. And had no feedback carb, just miles of vacuum hose and an electronic choke.

According to that lable it was DSO Code 53: Kansas City.
As for the DS-III / EEC-III, (As the EEC-IV didn't come out untill 1984).
Yours was most likely a High Altitude model if it had a EEC-III, DS-III system.
Possibly one of these units... Would need the color of your grommet etc...
DS-III: DY-297: E1AZ-12A199-A Yellow Grommet
DS-III: DY-249: D9AZ-12A199-A Brown Grommet
etc...

Why was it ordered? Haven't a clue...

Wonderful! I had a high altitude emissions package on a truck running around at 1100' above sea level. But, that does prove there were 82's with DS-III/EEC-III systems. And, were it me, I would stay away from them since they are more difficult to maintain than the more common DS-II systems that were being sold at the same time.
