This one has me stumped. I have my suspicions but woul like some other opinions. Here is the setup, 99 Expedition 5.4L 234,000 miles. The problem, strange electrical issues. Description, I get in the truck this morning and my blower motor is running and the ABS light is on. Fire it up to head home and as soon as I drop into gear the radio blanks out, clock and all. That continued all the way home. Also the 4x4 light was blinking in an eratic pattern as well as the washer fluid light. Also had trouble getting the wipers going but they worked ok afterwards. So I go out this afternoon to run to the store and the dash is lit up like Christmas. All of the warning and caution lights were on. This time the starter cranked over but the engine would not start. Seemed like no fuel. Disconnected the battery to let every thing reset and all problems still there plus odometer showing all dashes and mpg computer has reset to 0.0. I suspect a computer issue of some sort but what module and where is it? Suggestions please!
Rain off and on since last night. New battery last Sunday. I have never had a problem in the rain before. Noticed a little water on the driver's floor mat but the carpet under and around is dry. After I shut it off the oil light, check engine light ABS light and air bag light stay on. It also sounds like the starter is trying to engage while it is running.

You have the infamous windshield leak. It leaks water at the lower driver's side and the water drips directly down into both the fuse box and the GEM. The windshield has to come out and be reinstalled with new sealant to fix the problem.
There are many posts on on here regarding GEM and electrical issues as a result of this leak.
Think the GEM is shot or will it dry out and resolve.
It should dry out and be okay. The time to dry depends on your current weather. It's obviously going to dry faster on a hot 95 degree day than it would on a 50 degree damp day.
Placing a small fan under the dash, pointing it up, and letting it run overnight will cut down the dry time significantly.
