I am currently assembling the Transmission Output Shaft Bearing Retainer onto the Transmission Case, and have noticed that the “face” of the Transmission Case where the Transmission Output Shaft Bearing Retainer attaches to has 8 (eight ) holes and the Transmission Output Shaft Bearing Retainer only has 7 (seven).
When I place the Transmission Output Shaft Bearing Retainer, onto the transmission case, that eight hole on the transmission case is slightly covered by the speedometer assembly.
I took pictures of this section before disassembling, and I don’t see anything that could be missing.
The old (Broken)Transmission Output Shaft Bearing Retainer on the top pic also has seven holes.
Does the hole behind the speedo go all the way thru the case? - If not no problem - There are several different types of retaines that can fit these as the application call for.
If it does go all the way thru find or make a plug that you can Loctite in it
I beleive it does not go all the way, but will double check. So there is retainers that have 8 holes and the case is made to fit these retainers with eight holes?
Thanks.

Could be 4,5,6 etc holes depending on what, when, where and how.
