As per this thread https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...sing-leak.html on my leaking tranny, I need to replace the Centre Support Bearing on my 2 piece tail shaft and I bought a new bearing yesterday but it looks slightly different to the old one? The main bearing is the same but it has 2 other bits that the old one doesn't, namely a large washer type plate and a small shouldered one? Can anyone tell me are they needed for my situation or are they for some other vehicle as the box talks about this bearing being used on pre 77 F100's?
Also I assume I will need to take it to a drive shaft place as I can't get the old bearing off and I guess they are pressed on ?

You can pull the rubber part off the bearing and then cut the bearing in two to get it off. Then clean up the shaft good andyou should be able to tap the new one on. The washer thing I'm guessing is a dust shield that goes on first. Then the bearing and then the other is a retainer that goes on last and keeps the bearing from coming back off. It might not have one if it's never been changed before. RB
