my question is i have all the symptoms of a IPR problem.
i took it out and changed the orings (they looked so-so)
put i back and im still getting the same issues!
my question is how would i know if i have a bad IPR?
truck started to run a little rough at idle. then under load it would start to sputter blue smoke mixed with black smoke out the pipe(no power). then one day she quit on me on the HWY. it wouldnt start back up. then i changed the CPS and IPR orings. still no start until the other day. i swapped in a differant IDM from my other truck and still the same issue. issues that ive noticed today....1. starts rough 2. if its sits at idle and push hard on the gas/fuel pedal the only thing that comes out the tailpipe is lots of blue smoke and no black smoke mixed in(stage 2's). 3. when i switch my tunes from one to the other it almost wants to stalll at first the idles smooth 4. i have eletric fuel and i hear gurgling sound from the fuel tank area....help plz its been almost 2 month since shes run rite.
Is there any way you have a fuel blockage somewhere after the wherever the gauge is hooked up? I'm just wondering, if you hear fuel gurgling in the tank, you don't have any black smoke, just a thought I guess.
I didn't know the burning oil part. I guess if I had 2 trucks, I'd try my other ipr. Its a little work, but if you've been down for 2 months with that truck, might as well try it and either its it, or its eliminated from the problem hunt.
Im having the exact same problem right now, I just picked up a brand new IPR today when I got off work cost 300 bucks gunna replace it when I get off work tomorrw ill let you know what I find out.
If you do swap parts from truck to truck. Always put the parts from the dead truck in the running truck for two reasons 1. it's a better way to test the parts. 2. If there is something wrong with the wiring on the dead truck you don't risk shorting out your good parts
