I recently bought that cam for my 390. It was recommended by a comp tech guy so I figured I'd go with it. Just wondering if there's anyone here running that cam and what you can tell me about how it does? I know it's not a big performance cam, but I was told that it'd give me good torque (perfect for my application with trails and mudding) and some economy, although that part doesn't matter to me much.
My engine is stock, I believe it's a 8.5:1 plant. Holley SD intake, holley 750cfm with vac secondaries (which has woken it up since swapping out the summit 600cfm I used to have on it), headers and dual exhaust. Heads are D2TE-AA.
Truck is approx. 5000lbs, 36" swampers, 4:88 gears, 4 speed.
per comps cams web site specs looks like a nice RV type cam should give you some added torque and horse power .

is that the new Summit carb- the updated version of the Autolite 4100? I've been looking for real-world info on those.
It was a nice carb, and used holley parts such as the pump cams, power valves, jets, secondary springs, accel. pump convertion kits, etc. It just wasn't big enough at 600cfm.
