Best replacement power window motor F150

Hi,
have a 1990 F150 XLT Supercab & both Power Window motors are stressing, much more so in the winter months. So I am going to replace them & was wondering if there was a tremendous dif in quality per brand.
A1 Cardone
AC Delco
ACI
ARC
Cardone
DAP
Dorman
Motocraft
VDO

Any of these I should stay away from?

The New ACI & ACDelco motors on Amazon are less than the remanufactured A1Cardone motors @ Checker/O'Reilly.
Whats' the dif between A1Cardone & Cardone?

thank you

Have you taken the old motors apart and cleaned the coils? I did it to mine and they work like a champ now. That and clean the track very thoroughly. It did it for me. Worth a shot before you spend the money

Do you mean the weatherstrip? If so No, but think that is a good idea. When I replaced the motors on the Bronco wished had done the weatherstrip @ the same time. In fact I'm looking @ weatherstrip kits on Bronco Graveyard right now for both the Bronco & F150.

No - but guess I was thinking if going to the trouble of taking door panels off/drilling holes, cleaning & greasing the lifting mechanism that might as well spend $65 on a couple new motors. They are 22 years old. The ACI motors come with a year warranty & for that price think their worth replacing.
Suppose if I was willing to let the F150 have the garage & the Bronco sit out in the cold for a couple days while I learned how to rebuild the motors it might be worth a try.

thanks

I've had pretty good success with Dorman motors and motor/regulator assys. Motorcraft or Delco would also be good choices. Car-don't (stop, run, start, etc) parts are usually cheap for a reason, I avoid them. I also buy new whenever possible.

Amazon also has a pair of new Dorman's @ $73 & they have more customer reviews. 4+ star reviews too. Guess the reason had initially shied away from Dorman was the look. ACI / ACDelco more closely resemble the original Ford motor that will be coming out. In fact ACI & AcDelco look just alike. Wonder if the same manufacturer?

ACI / ACDelco both priced about same = $65. ACDelco slightly less. Sounds like either ACDelco or Dorman would be a good choice.

thanks

X2

I'd suggest reading this thread, it would be a much cheaper option to try and I think it will solve your issue - https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...krewin-up.html

That is a great thread. Guess I'll pull the motors out before investing in new ones. Perhaps the little plastic gears are worn out. Instructions & pictures in Ford Power Window Repair are excellent.

One other question. Is there a specific grease I should use on the lifting mechanism? Used regular old grease from the gun on one of the Bronco doors years ago - still OK as far as I know. But when fixing the tailgate window last year I used Lithium thinking lighter might be better.

thanks

DUDE!! how fast does your window roll up and down? You creating some major friction and break-neck speeds there?

I don't know the actual answer (but I bet who does *cough*Cos*cough*) but I just used the grease I had laying around in my garage - think it was bearing grease.

Got my hands on a Shop Manual which states Lithium Grease is appropriate for Window Mechanism. Actually reads "Lithium Complex Polymer Additive Grease ESB-M1C208-1A".
Think I'll just use the Lithium grease already have on hand.

page 42-01-1
Apply an even coating of Lubricant to all window regulator rollers, shafts & the entire length of roller guides.
