Overboost code regulator.....

Quick question while i await clay's phone call, if im getting a ts 6 pos with beans tunes, do i need the OCR (Over boost cod regulator)? IIRC the tunes should overwrite that code, or feed it a false reading right?

The tuner may stop the overboost code and defueling, but it will not stop the CEL light coming on for a minute or two when you overboost. The OCR will get rid of the light. I have one and it works well and also looks good too.

the CEL light wont bother me too much and as long as the tuner over writes the defueling that was my concern. Ill save myself the $58 (that will cover shipping!) Itll be something to add the the list later on. It also makes the difference in a 1000$ order or 900$ less painful imo!

edit --- so i lied 1013$ LOL

You can just wait and see what happens. My DP tunes stop the defueling for sure ,but I never tried disconnecting my OCR with my BTS tunes. I think you will be ok. Someone will come along soon with that exact chip and can tell you for sure. Anything you can do to save a dollar is needed these days! Good luck!

Like a kid at Christmas!!!!!er

The filter covers will be in thursday so clay will just ship it out then, and my ISSPro gauge i wanted is out of stock so had to go Black face/black bezel/red pointer

I think im just gonna swap all my mix matched gauges to my Fummins build when I start that this summer, and order all matching ISSPro's for this truck later. Oh and still got it under $1000, just gonna make my on AIH delete plug

Cant believe im doing this all to keep another 7.3 on the road haha

Good list. For the fuel pressure gage are you going with the ISSPRO gage? I didn't notice the maker. FYI I used to love my Autometers till I got my ISSPRO fuel pressure gage. In the dark there is no comparison.

Yep, had ISSPro's in my 6.0 and LOVED THEM. Started modding this 7.3 on a budget (lost my *** on my 6.0) so went with a cheaper autometer. Once i start my track truck build, ill change all these to ISSPro and put the autometers/1 Isspro in the track truck.

Edit--- i say track truck, gonna be more like a garage truck hahahaha. Right now my plans are to pull this motor drop the 7.3 van motor my truck, swap my parts over, rebuild the busted one, upgrade it to Late 99, and sell it as a completely re-built/sleeved running drop in, then by me either a 24v or a 5.9CR to build, and probably look for a blown up for 6.0 or 7.3 reg cab to drop it in. Just gonna be a hobby, until its done of course......then look out for a 1000+ horse Fummins running around.

And out of all of this the thing i look most forward to (aside from getting my ol' girl running ofc) is the AE Enhanced....Gonna have to learn how to use it, then teach my step-dad so we can use it on the farm trucks (we have 4 95-97 F350 5 speeds) and stop paying someone $40 to pull codes and run tests!

The money saved on the OCR should fill the $ gap between the Autometer and the ISSPRO. LOL! That's how I justify spending more money on MY truck.
