Hey guys. Have 2000 f350 with 208k on it. Wanna change my original starter out b4 the winter hits. What do you guys recommend.? Also heard some people talking about a lower current draw started.?
Stick with OEM. Yours lasted 208k, pretty good service. Have yours rebuilt, or get a new ford and rebuild yours for a spare. I did that with my starter and alternator. Nice to have on a long trip away from home along with all the other spare stuff.
Still running the OEM starters on all three of my trucks also...
I do have another Motorcraft unit in a box because I figure I'll eventually need to replace one someday...
Thanks for the input guys. Its just starting to get tired. And figures since i have 2 brand new alts and two new batts. Changing the starter out now would only extend the life. Especially starting it in sub freezing temps every morning. Dont want it to kill my batts when plow season is going on
If you live near any sizeable city, there will be somewhere that will rebuild your core. Price is usually very fair and warranty is good. Plus you would be supporting local jobs i could not believe the difference between worn and new.
