47 1 Ton, 226 six cyl: Hope someone can help us with the upper radiator shroud, original part #8162. The original was stolen along with lots of tools we had in a wagon last year. We found one on ebay along with some grill pieces that was rough but we really worked on it and got it to fit nicely when we had the front all disassembled. The holes all lined up on the outer flange nicely. We reassembled everything this last week only to find out that it no longer fit when the original radiator was in place. So I'm thinking this was off a 47 with a V8 and not the straight 6? Does anyone know if these were engine specific? The parts list for the 6 &V8 are the same, but the one I have will not go in now that the radiator is back in. This is a critical piece, can't latch the hood without it, hope someone can help us find one... Thanks! Cary
They are different between the 6 and 8. There are two sets of mounts on the frame for the rad. support (6 & V8 [the 6 being the ones closer to the front]). then the inner fenders have two sets of holes. The upper rad cover was made in two different depths.

Thanks John,
We got the truck all put back together but the shroud I found on ebay won't fit. I didn't know they came in 2 sizes. Any idea where I can find one off a 6cyl?
Cary
I tried to buy this ebay listing and has been my previous experience, it was a false listing. He said it was an old photo and had another one (V-8 model) in poor shape. I passed on it, but maybe someone else would trust this guy... Cary
