E4OD grinding in reverse
I now have the motor out so while I had access to the torque converter I thought I'd call the guy who made it for me and discussed this noise. He thinks it's the pump assy based on behavior and that once I tried to install the motor and I could have jammed the torque converter hub back too far and caused damage.
First question: is the damage I described above possible if I didn't have the converter seated right when I installed the motor?
When I had the tranny rebuilt, I just took it in as a bench job. The tranny shop doesn't have a dyno. I am not sure if it'd be better if I left the tranny in the trick and got it running so they can hear the noise or if any noise would mean It's easy to see some broken parts if it was done as another bench job
Thanks
