The best degreaser?

Ok I want to know what is the best/ safe degreaser to use to clean out the valley on my 2000 7.3. It looks like a oil top road between my vc's and there was some oil or diesel down in the valley. I just don't want to put something in there that could jeopardize my rubber hoses and electrical components.

My method: Gobs-o-paper towels to dob out the pools, then Simple Green spraydown, beverage or smoke break, then a good non-pressurized rinse. I'm looking into getting an air-powered vacuum from Harbor Freight to make this easy on the fingies next time.

Thank you. Another question do you dilute the simple green spray or use a full strength? As nasty as mine is prob gonna a few good cleanings and a ccv reroute along with a bunch of other stuff to be replaced or rebuilt.

No need to dilute... that stuff's pretty tame.

Just be mindful of where the truck is parked or you will trash the driveway. You might want to park it out in the street if it is that dirty and keep the driveway for your more "routine" cleanings

Well I use old school engine degreaser from the parts store. Just make sure you cover the alt and power steer pump cap. It is the only thing that will really cut the old build of grease, oil and dirt. So it isn't something the EPA wants going into the ground. But if the EPA doesn't like it I love it!!!

Also like Robin said clean out your doghouse really good. You'll be surprised how nasty it is. And replace the orings from Bob/ Diesel Orings or Clay/ Riffraff.
