1) np205 transfer case
2) d44hp
3) d60
4) curious to what everyone is using in the 360/390
Also, what do I need to rebuild the np205? And where do I get these parts or a kit...... Is it possible to do at home and I remember someone on here did it and it looked great with the billet machined parts on it so it had some flare to it vs a black blob. Lol
Dang it 205 not 295 in the title. Stinking iPod touch....
you can run 80w-90 in your axles since you are in so Cal, I usually use 75w-90 but their really isn't much difference.
if you want you can run synthetic.
most 205s call for gear oil, HOWEVER, if it is mated, and you have an automatic, I'd run ATF incase of seal failure.
Its a divorced and where is the oil fill/check hole cuz im stumped as to how i can see how much is in it. I really need to rebuild it though. And whats the real difference between 75w-90 and 80w-90?
^^^ What he said. You just fill it until the fluid is level with the fill hole, same goes with your axles and tranny. They all take gear oil, just choose a weight based on your climate and use

75w-90 and 80w-90 are the same once they are warmed up
The service manual actually calls for the T case to use 50wt motor oil. Most folks use gear oil. For the engine you need to use a motor oil that has zddp additive in the correct ppm for the older flat tappet engines. I use Rotella 10w-30 or 15w-40.
