Oil Bypass
I read on one forum not the get the AmSoil becuase its a dual bypass and its not good, you want single bypass.
1st thing: What is the difference between dual and single bypass, pros and cons.
2nd thing: AmSoil vs the fs2500. I like the how easy the amsoil one install. However, I dont know how the fs2500 installs because I cannot find to much on how it installs. I dont want want a kit where I have to do alot of fab work and tapping into the oil pan.
3rd thing: What actually is the purpose of the kits. Does it replace the OEM filter or is it just a second filter so your oil stays cleaner and better for the engine. So I will have 3 filters to change at the time of the oil change. I wont do like alot of people and keep running the same oil for 15k miles. At most I will change it at 5k just because I dont want to be replacing a 10k engine.
4th thing: Are there any other kits that i need to look at and where to purchase from.

You do keep the original filter and add the bypass to help clean the oil just that much more. But if one is changing their oil every 5000 miles or so there really isn't a need.
I haven't done any UOA's with my current truck, but my old 2005 and the fleet of trucks I used to maintain were only good for around 3000-4000 miles on conventional oil and 5000-6000 miles on synthetic.
A 15W40 ends up looking like a 10W30 within a 1000 miles or so.
10W30 stays relatively the same.
5W40 basically became a 5W30.
The HPOP and injectors really do a number on shearing the oil.
