When i take off from a dead stop i feel a big clunck like a jolt and it seems like the driveshaft or the rear axle but my dad watched and the axle barely moved, plz help
Sounds to me like the infamous "Super Duty Clunk" There is a TSB on it but for the life of me I cant find it. The noise your most likely hearing is from the slip joint. From the factory the splines are coated in plastic and over time the plastic coating wears off. The TSB states to use a special molly lube on the splines (which dosn't last forever. Maybe 10K miles IIRC. I wish I could find the TSB because it lists the Ford P/N for the lube but I just cant put my finger on it. Of course im telling you all this from memory so don't hate me if some of the details aren't exactly correct. ( like the splines being coated in plastic. They have a coating on them and I remember it as a plastic but it could be some other plastic like material) Hope this helps put you on the right track. I'll keep looking for the TSB and I'll post it if I see it. But im sure someone will be along shortly to quote it anyway.
