Fix rusted bed or replace?

1986 f250 6.9L
Standard bed i guess.
Rusted out corners etc. would be a lot of work to get it fixed.
Should i just find a replacement bed?
What year truck beds will bolt right up?

80-86 will be a perfect match, 87-96(97) will also work but have different tailgate mounting and some other details

The body lines on the newer beds are slightly different I think, but i thought the tailgate was pretty much the same, I could be wrong tho.

Newer beds just have a rounder shape to the wheel well, but the body lines are identical. My 86 has a 90s bed on it, and no one ever notices the difference. Yeah, different tailgate mounting too. For the abundance of these trucks, keep a look out for a replacement bed over fixing the current one.

EDIT: Here's a picture of mine.

Thanks guys, thats what i was thinking, where do yall recommend looking? i've checked craigslist but not many parts trucks on there, junkyards? And when yall say different tailgate mounting what do you mean? cause the tailgate on mine is rusted out in a few places too, and has been hit with something right where the handle is so thats not fixable, just gonna get a replacement

the 87-up used a different style of hinge at the bottom AND a different style of latch on top.
so you want to buy your bed before you start shopping for a tailgate.
