Just got this noise with 22320 miles on my 2011 f350 6.7L. Had my truck for a year and this is the first time this has happen to me. Anybody experience this noise and find out what the problem is?
The noise is on youtube.com under 2011 f350 highway noise. (not my truck but someone has the same problem as me and found it)
I had a noise pretty close to that. I got it after I read a thread here about the boot on the antenna. I tucked the boot inside the cowl, but had it rotated the wrong way. Anytime I had a strong crosswind coming from passenger side toward driver side it would howl to the point it would sound like a buzzer under the dash. Not sure if this is your problem but might want to check it out. Drove me crazy for a while. Good luck.
That same noise showed up 2 weeks ago (4,000 miles).
I checked the antenna boot and it looks good. At least I can show the dealer what it sounds like now.
got the same noise at 35K miles.
dealer did something with the windshield, did not fix.
going to give them another shot at it next week.
it is beyond annoying.
Lol I have the same problem from time to time. All this time I thought it was something with the CAI I put on,because I never heard before I put on,but also never drove much since I bought it used.Drove a 1500 mile trip and never heard a thing then put intake on and noticed next highway drive.Thats exactly what mine sound like. I to thought it was coming from front lip rubber under hood by radiator or something, have not checked into any further yet.
I think it is wind related, as when it occurs and we change directions it quits.
The first time we were heading east and thier was a stong wind from the south. When we turned and headed north it quit. Both times there was a strong cross wind.
yes, I think its the wind to, just not sure on what yet. Will check the antena out.Sounds like something vibrating like rubber piece or plastic when hits it just right
I havent heard that one yet. Hopefully you can figure it out. I am still on my quest of the wind noise by your head on the drivers door and the ticking that comes and goes on the passenger front door panel.
My 2011 did both of those noises so it is def an issue from Ford. Dealer doesnt want to look for it so I am stuck to finding it.

I don't think it's the antenna, as I put a stubby antenna on so the truck will fit into the garage with out the antenna hitting the door head.
Thi antenna is only about 4" tall, and had been on there for months before the sound showed up.

Does your door make that noise when you close it? Does it sound like a rattle in the door? Have you had your door panel off ever?
If so the body shop foreman here at my ford dealer said they've seen the problem with the door clips breaking. He's fixed literally dozens of trucks with the problem. I had mine fixed and now the rattle is gone.

Not sure if that's your problem or not.
No I have never taken the door panel off. It does it when its closed. It sounds like something metal inside the door is ticking near the latch. It comes and goes. My last truck did it and the dealer could never find it.
Dealers do not like and dont wont to fool with these loud noises like the wind noise, ticking in passenger door, and squeel the OP has posted. They told me they dont want to fool with it.
I will say I have lubed all in my door panel and that never solved the ticking.
