the orange plug with the speaker looking thing, it looks like it is tied into (part of) the factory harness from the pic. is it? what about the thing in the bed, was it just laying there or was it pluged into a harness? looks like it has 3 socket plugs, are they? strange.
The orange plug with the speaker thing on it in your last pic must be factory because I have a ranger lariat with ac wiring harness and it has the same thing on it. I think it might be a seat-belt/lights still on, warning buzzer?
The thing with the three sockets has a orange light it looks like in the middle socket?
It was wrapped around tailight wires but not pugged into anything.
The orange speaker looking thing seems to tie into the main wring harrness,

did any of these trucks have a light buzzer? as for a seat belt buzzer, i'll need to look in the morning but I didn't think that they were that large but to tell you the truth I never really paid attention.
couldnt wait, went out to the garage. that IS your seat belt buzzer, just looks really big in your pic. as for the relay looking thing, didnt see anything similar in mine but it doesnt have air or cruise (yet, working on finding parts) so it could be for one of those if you have them. are they part of your harness? looks like it.
Ive owned a few 79's and dont think the seatbelt buzzer worked on any of them.
It woud be nice to make it work I hate things that dont work.
Maybe ill check it out a bit more.

im the same way. you put all your time, money and love into a project just to have some tiny, insignificant detail rolling around in the back of your head. good luck
The buzzer in those 70s era trucks is very loud and annoying. Fix it if you must, but be prepared to be annoyed every time you start the truck without your seat belt on and any time the door is opened with the key in the ignition.
My buzzer works and it is very annoying. Anyone know how I can disable it?
There is either a plug under your carpet that your drivers female buckle is plugged into, or as in dads SC it is in the retractable end. Find it and unplug it.
