2011 Ecoboost super crew with 6.5' box. When pulling my boat at about 60 on flat ground I seem to sometimes get a slight miss in the motor that jerks a little. Seems mostly when in high gear and when you add a little bit of throttle it can sometimes miss.
Is this been seen before and how to fix. I did see one thing about changing spark plugs with a regap. Is the turbo boost blowing out spark at low rpm load or any other ideas.
Love the truck and not a major issue just wondering.
That does sound like it. The truck was sitting in fish camp in Canada for 5 days which it rained and snowed for three of them. The ride home it was slightly raining out with plenty of humidity so I could easily see how the condensation could build up. Also could there be some moisture in the intercooler from the very damp conditions the truck sat it. It did seem to go away the longer I drove.
Why dont you think so. I dont think that is the problem but I do know high compression can wipe out spark if too much plug gap or weak ignition. Then again not sure if boost would act the same as compression but really each is cylinder pressure. Depends on the quench zone of the combustion chamber I guess.
I had the exact same issues as you rcm800 but mine did it when i was not pulling anything. It would only do it in 6th gear when you would just step on the peddle enough to slightly accellerate. After doing all the computer updates and the catalytic converter changes and all the other things that ford told them to try, none of them worked. I had also noticed that my turbo was popping off under slight accleleration so they were trying to diagnose that also. Finally after all the pissing around they ended up changing one of the turbo solenoid valves and all problems were solved. Been touble free ever since and love the ecoboost. As a matter of fact i just traded for a new ecoboost that im picking up tomorrow!
Had simular issue...possible condensation issue in intercooler. I resolved mine by doing a couple of full throttle sprints with 'er. Cleared it up immediately.
