Another 11 digit VIN question
I just hauled my 1960 F-750 out of the woods to get it ready to put back in service. This time, it's going to need some work and parts. I'm hoping
NumberDummy, or others, can help me establish just what it is.
VIN in glovebox is: F75N0U37533
144" WB, 170 h.p.@ 3600 rpm, Color-S, Date-01W, Trans-J, Axle-53 Engine block casting- ECT6015B
I appreciate any and all help!
I bought this truck in 1995, and hauled 1000's of yards of sand with it, which is a lot of trips with a 6 yard dump! Since then, it has mostly just
sat in the woods in northern MN. I always kept fresh gas in it, and started/drove it a few times each summer, to keep it alive.
Unfortunately, a large tree fell across the windshield while it was parked, but I have a straight roof to graft on at some point. Will need a new dash.
Two days ago, I hauled it 155 miles on a trailer to its' next job, hauling the spoils from a 1700 cu. yd. pond dig.
It has zero brakes at this point, so a little work needed there.
Thanks to all, I really like this big truck forum! Mike

VIN/Date code says 1960. The grille is from a 1959.
F75 = F750.
N = 302 Lincoln derived Y block.
0 = 1960.
U = Louisville KY Assembly Plant.
37533 = 1960 Numerical Sequence of Assembly, the trucks specific serial number.
144" Wheelbase.
170 net HP @ 3,600 RPM
S = Special order paint color.
01W = September (W-2nd year) 1, 1960.
J = Clark 5 Speed Direct.
53 = Eaton Two Speed Rear Axle / 6.50/9.04 / 16,000 lbs. Rear Axle Capacity.

Thanks Bill!
That's great information to know. This was originally a Hennepin County, MN. truck, thus the special order paint.
One inconsistency I see is, my engine has casting #ECT6015B which, according to other sites, is a 332 HD/Lincoln block. Probably been changed. It does have a 4-barrel Holley on the stock manifold, and ram's horn exhaust manifolds. It sure does run nice!
I sure appreciate your effort, you may have the Numbers, but you aint
no Dummy! Mike
