No. Basically, you buy a truck that can pull your load or else you buy a trailer that fits your trucks towing capacity. IMHO engine and suspension mods won't get you where you need to be if you are overloaded.

ya, i agree with Rangerman, the power (although not much, but sufficient) is enough to pull a normal sized load, however, your main problem will be braking power, so first off, i would look into a heftier set of brakes, depending on the size of the trailer, but i would get the most massive set that you can stuff in there, next, i would go and spend $30 or $40 on a helper spring (hour at the most to mount in the drive way) and these two things will GREATLY increase your pulling capacity. However, the 2.3 Ranger isnt made to pull alot of weight, but occasional loads that arent anything more than a thousand pounds or so, you should be okay. If you want more pulling power, you will have to do some motor mods, maybe a new, more non-restrictive muffler, and maybe a chip would help some. Good luck!
