Running boards

I love the look of trucks without running boards and am thinking of taking them off of my 2011 F-250. Is there any real risks to the truck/body if I do so?

The only possible risks are slightly more rocks bouncing up and hitting the bottom edge of the cab and possibly having idiots slam their doors into the side of your truck.

Running boards offer no structural rigidity to the cab or frame. You may remove them safely without having your truck bend in half.

but then you need to be a mountain goat to get in and out of the 250. You might want to think about replacing them with the AMP Research powerboard. They fold up an hide underneath the vehicle.

I don't know if they salt the roads up there in SK, but if so then you should leave them on to protect the doors. The rust will start in the lower door seam.

I had nerf bars and a swapped them out for plastic running boards that hug the truck. They do a good job of protecting the doors.

My doors started to rust bad after the years of snow, salt, and dirt hitting the doors.

If this isn't a problem for you then feel free to take them off!

I hate the look of running boards, but my next truck will have them to help protect teh bottom from rocks, salt, ect. I've been using tube steps, but they just don't offer the protection that actual boards do. Plus, the newer factory plastic boards don't look all that bad.
