on the road again

I can't believe that I've let my 56 set for a little over two years since I drove it last. That is fixing to change . Later this week, I hope to be ready to put insurance and tag back on it and start driving it daily. It has a "fresh" 472 Caddy engine with a 400 trans, volare type ifs, and 68 Dodge car rear.

Now Thom you can't post a thread like this without pics. Let's see
you back on the road. Beautiful time of the year to be out motoring in Western North Carolina.

It seems awkward, but whenever you "insert a picture" to one of these threads, the forum is looking for the picture somewhere on the web (which is always available) rather than from somewhere on your hard drive (which isn't always available).

Go to Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket and sign up for a free account. Then create an album for your truck. Upload any pics you want to post on FTE to that album. Have this album open on your computer when you want to post pics on FTE.

While you're making a post on FTE, select the pic you want to post from your Photobucket album. When the large version of the pic is open, right mouse click on it and select "View Image Info". The image info will be highlighted and will look something like this:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...ghtsafter1.jpg

Copy that highlighted info (right click / copy).

When you have the spot in your post where you want the pic to be placed, select the "Insert Image" icon at the top of the post (looks like a mountain) and paste (right click / paste) the image info you copied in the highlighted box (just shows "http://" when it opens).

Your pic will be placed in the post.

Hope that helps.

Once I get my sled back on the road, and start trusting it, maybe we can meet up at some car shows in the future. Congratulations

Thanks. I know how to post pics. The problem is...the truck doesn't look any different than it did when I posted a pic recently.By this weekend I'll post an action shot of it on the road.Sounds like a plan Kevin.

Today was the day. I drove my 56 again. The 472 Caddy that I now have has more power than the one I replaced. When I step on the accelerator pedal stuff happens. Tomorrow I will, hopefully get all the turn signals and brake lights working again.

I've driven my 56 everyday since Saturday. The more I drive it the better it runs!I've taken the long way home from work a couple of days to drive a little farther.
