Well Today is September 30 and just like every year its the last day my truck is insured because I only drive it in the summer. So anyway about 20 minutes ago I was driving around to try and burn the rest of the gas in the front tank because I am going to pull it out and change the sending unit (which is about $130 now but thats another post). So anyway I was about 5 minutes away from home when my stereo started kicking in and out so I shut it off, I turned down the next street and no signals, next were the headlights. Anyway I managed to limp the truck home rather then park it because the insurance was just about up and when I got home I shut the truck off and it wouldn't start back up.
So the coincidence of the situation is tomorrow I get my 2003 Ranger demo and my truck will be parked for about a year and a half, so I guess my first job is to re wire the truck which I have wanted to do for quite a while anyway but now I have an excuse. These darn vehicles can get expensive but don't ya just love em. Thanks for reading now I am done complaining.
And then when you see where the wires run underneath, you'll decide to clean up and paint the frame.
Since the bed will be off it, you'll decide to redo the rear suspension...
Somewhere in that you'll hear about a heavier duty axle for sale cheap, and of course THAT calls for a suspension lift! (Which is easier to do with the cab off...)
Hmmm....
Ya know? It could sure use a few more horsepower...
Funny I was actually thinkin of doing a frame off resto anyway. I can just see the dollar signs now, and I have a 351 cleveland still sittin in my garage with no home yet, oh jeez does someone want to invest in my obsession?
