Hey ya'll I'm new to this forum and hoping someone out there can help me with a shifting problem im having. I've got a 94 F150 4x4 with the 5.8 motor in it. I had the transmission rebuilt last Oct bout this time. Truck did great all thru the winter then in March stated having problems with it shifting. Sometimes it will drive like it jus rolled off the showroom floor then after i make a hard right or left turn or slam on brakes it starts acting up. From a complete start in first gear it will go almost to 30mph before shifting very hard into second, then shift hard again into drive. Doesnt shift hard going into overdrive but will someone act as tho it shifted back into nuetral and let the motor rev before it shifts hard back into gear. Ive spent money and spent money on this truck an nothing has seemed to work. Took it back to the transmission guy and he replaced the NSS and it seemed to cure it for a day or so. It went and bought another NSS and replaced it myself. Samething, drove great for probally two hrs then started right back. Ive got a TPS that is goin to be put on tomorrow. If anyone knows what might be the solution your help would be greatly appreciated.
get someone to use their scanner tool and do both tests, key on engine off and key on engine on. i had a shifting problem with my 95 and put a selenoid body on it, tps, changed the fluid and filter still nothing. my check engine light was not on but it turned out to be just a broken wire and we would've found the problem sooner if my tranny guy wouldn't have skipped the key on engine off test
