It is not winter. Its early fall in West Texas but my 2001, 7.3 Diesel Expedition has an acceleration problem just after start up. If I run it down the road while the engine is warming up, I notice a serious lull when I step on the gas. This has only started recently and it only happens while the engine is warming up. Once I get down the road a bit and that needle climbs to inside the nominal range indicator then it goes away. However, this has never happened before. I went up a small hill this morning and had the pedal to the floor and was crawling up the road. Again, I expect this in the winter but the mornings here have been in the mid 60' at the coolest. What could this be?:
