a/c compressor random clutch engaging
soo a friends 03 f-150 w/ the 4.6 has noticed the a/c compressor clutch engaging while heater is on. clutch engages for about 3 seconds or soo and kicks back out consistently but only w/ the heater on.
a/c dose function property when using a/c functions...
is this normal or dose somthing need serviced???

It is normal for the compressor to cycle when the defroster is on. This allows the vehicle to be dehumidified, to remove moisture from the interior. I suspect your friend is using the defroster, not just the heat.

Im shure it was designed to keep people buyin a/c componets!!!
ps, these trucks are my favorite modern ford, plan to join yall eventually!!!
