I have a 75' F100 XLT styleside that I am restoring and I am wanting to put an original styleside rear bumper on the truck. It currently has an old diamond plate rear step bumper that i guess was dealer installed or something. LMC sells two different styleside rear bumpers. One has 36.5" mounting holes and the other has 40" mounting holes. Does anyone have a picture of a styleside rear bumper mounted?
The problem is there is some existing bracketry that is used for the step bumper and it sticks out real far. What does the bumper mounting bracket look like for an original styleside rear bumper? I can't seem to find anywhere that sells the mounting brackets and hardware. I have been to a couple local junkyards and it seems that most trucks had the step bumper installed.
You can (or could) get the brackets from Blue Oval Truck Parts. They are pricey at $99.99, but if you can't make your own, like myself, it is an option. Here is a picture of mine. I got the bumper form Dennis Carpenter's.
