Ok So i just bought a 99 F350 and it has the APC Module installed. The previous owner said that it worked for the five years he had it and that you could start the truck and after a few seconds it will idle up. I have gone through the instructions a million times and still can not get it to do anything. Powers up fine, If I press either RPM Control or charge protect the light next to it will blink and then it does nothing. The charge protect blinks for a few seconds shows 9.4v and then turns off. The RPM Control will blink for a few seconds shows 1175 and then stay solid while it goes back to current RPM. no matter what I do it will not idle up. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Also just as a side note, Trans is in Park, Emergency brake is on, foot is off the brake.
The E Brake Light does not come on when the Brake is applied. I guess ill have to start chasing that problem Im not sure what happened a fe minutes ago but i pressed the oval button and the RPM's went up to the preset 1740 for about 5 seconds then went back down. not sure how i did it but it wont do it again LOL. Ill check out the e brake light tomorrow
The switch for the e brake light grounds to turn it on. The connector is aluminium and gets dirty and won't make good contact. You will see the spot where it grounds when you look at it. Easy fix.
