Cool radio setup

This is on a '39 Chevy 1/2-ton for sale on eBay around here. Check out the "remote control" -- pretty clever! Predecessor to buttons mounted on the steering wheel.

Probably only had about 3 stations to choose from back then . If he was a farmer all he wanted to hear was the grain and hog prices anyway .

That also keeps your wife from changing the station.

I've seen remotes like that for TVs. My uncle just had two long broom handles for his TV remote, on he had taped to the channel selector and the other he had taped to the on/off/volumn ****. I guess it worked for him.

At first I was thinking push buttons, but then realized that the controls were *****.

My first car was a '70 Ford station wagon my parents gave me. It was a rusted out beater but the one nice thing about it was the radio was located left of the steering wheel. All of the guys' radio was centered in the dashboard and whoever was in the front passenger's seat was always screwing with the radio. In my wagon I had total command of the radio.

See the cables running from the little panel to the left of the steering wheel? The one for the tuning **** is disconnected but the ***** allow you to turn it on and off from the little panel, change volume, and tune it.

My mom had a '57 Olds with the Wonderbar radio, had a big bar on the floor to the right of the gas pedal that you could push with your foot and change stations.
