Noticed a faint smell of antifreeze on Friday and checked the reservoirs and the large one was low so I called the dealership and scheduled an appointment for Monday morning. Just got back and it is the radiator that has a very small leak. Tech said it is leaking in the front from the seam. I will look at it when they pull it and can give more details on location. Anyways, they ordered a new one and it will be in on Wednesday. By the way the truck is a 2012 with 26,000 miles on it. Only other issues have been the DEF fault message 1 time at about 7,000 miles and the back up camera had a bad connection causing a black screen at about 15,000 miles. Everything has been handled with no problem under warranty and the dealership has been excellent to work with. Boshear's Ford in Marshall, MI. Still love my truck and it puts a smile on my face every time I drive it but I am thinking more and more that having purchased the 125,000 mile warranty is a decision I am not going to regret. Everyone have a great day.
wished after all the radiators that went south on the 08-10's, they would have went a different direction.
ford solved the problem by not covering them under warentee, and dumped it back in the owners lap.

I know several have had theirs replaced under warranty on here, just not sure when the coverage expires.
In my experience, which is actually pretty well documented, coverage beyond 36,000 is iffy. Technically the rad is not covered as it is not actually affixed to the motor/block.
If you have a good dealer or are a regular customer they can help you. Sometimes they can make a case under 50,000 and beyond that they can help you if you agree to pay a deductible. I've done all three ways. I could be wrong but there is no specific statement for radiators in the ESP premium care. I should know this, sorry I'm a little foggy on it.
there was postings of Ford covering them for up to 100K, but I think they reneged on it.
I was told they would only cover them to 36K.
On the 6.4L, if there is a leak at a radiator o-ring then you get a new radiator out of the deal [TSB 11-6-6].
Ford waited until June 2011 to share that bit of information for 6.4L owners.
Lots of customers paid out of pocket for those repairs.
Again, this is 6.4L NOT our 6.7L.
I looked at the brochure for the premium extended warranty and it lists radiators in the covered items category. It sounds like with the 6.4 this was an ongoing problem. Hopefully that isn't the case with the 6.7. I went from a 05 6.0 to a 12 6.7 so I missed out on the 6.4 and its issues!
I have not got the chance to experience this yet,but think we will see more of it,just not as much(I hope)as the 6.4L.But with that been said, all I can say or ask is what do we see on trucks the newer they get? They run hotter temps=more and greater hot and cold cycles, which coolers, radiators dont like.If there solid alumminum or something similar then better/longer life.I will cross my fingers.
