Klondike bars

I'm a sucker for these things, but held off getting a pack of them on my last run through Wal-Mart since they upped the price. I got a pack today, and they seem thinner. Is it my imagination, or did they loose almost a quarter of their thickness?

They have gotten smaller...

You're not the only one to notice:

Consumer Alert: Klondike Bar Ripoff! | The Mid-life Crazy Man

Other searches I did on Google pulled up stuff from back in 2007 about this so, it's been going on for some time...

Have you noticed candy bars are smaller too.

Which is a good thing, but we might tend to eat more servings.

(marketing experts know what they are doing)

half a cent saved at production x 1 million bars sold adds up.

just like a "half gallon" of ice cream is now only 1.5 quarts, not 2 quarts.

I too am a sucker for Klondike bars. I noticed that different flavors seem to be different sized.

What gets me is they went from $2.98 to 3.25, and you get less. I want to say they were 3.6oz, now 3oz even.

Kind of surprising.

Usually they do it in steps
1. Raise price
2. Lower the price to previous -- but with the smaller product
3. Raise price

That way, we won't notice

Remember 5 pound cans of coffee? (-> 3lbs-> 39 oz-> -32oz)

My wife pointed out that the package still says 6 4oz bars. This is actually kinda BS- Just another result of greed.

This is the thing that gets me about the dairy industry. Nothing is wasted and yet they've seen fit to raise the prices on everything that is remotely affiliated with milk.

When's the first lawsuit?

Why is it legal for say......Breyers to market 1/2 gallon size ice cream...and it ain't nowhere near that? Isn't that false advertising?

Screw 'greed', or 'dishonesty', or whatever......That's false advertising.

For years I had at least one a day till I started putting on weight . I saved all the foil & made them in to little ***** Used them for ammo throwing them at the kids. I still have most of them , waiting for the grand kids to get a little bigger
