'66 wipers sticking

My '65 (yeah, wrong year in title...brain fart) has 2spd wipers that work, BUT they only work correctly while sitting still. If they are on while driving they will work for about two swipes and then stick in the extended or "up" position until I roll down the window and give a nudge. Is this a sign I need a wiper motor or is there some other problem? Both speeds work but they both seem to be slow.

Did you check the ground wire? Maybe loose or rusty/dirty?

Agree with Allen, I think bad connection, either ground or hot is the first place to look.

I'd start with lubricating the wiper linkage and see if that helps.
