starting issues....help
hey guys i have a 1985 f250 6.9l diesel. i'm having issues with it starting after it gets to running temp. cold starts ok. but after the engine warms up it wont restart. also how hard is it to instal a manual glow plug button instead of relying on the relay.

pretty simple if you know wiring. but i don't think thats what your problem is. for starting less that 2 hours after warming the truck up, the plugs do very little.
many people have found that a worn out injection pump causes your problem, and in many cases they can pour lukewarm water over the pump to cool it down a bit, then it will start.

yea i did some cleaning
yes i did some cleaning and filter changes and now it was running ok. But the problem now it that the water in fuel light is on but when i pull the valve for the seperator nothing happens. so i've got new issues getting it to crank again.lol

Ask up in the other forum, you still might have pump issues like was mentioned. Your water in the fuel light might be caused by you messing with the filter. Not accusing you of anything, but that is what usually happens to me, I mess with something and cause another problem. You had to unplug that thing to take the filter off correct?
