Unplug the switch at the proportioning valve, see if the light goes out. If it stays on, there is a wiring problem.
If you did a repair and the light is still on, the valve needs to be centered. Crack open one of the bleeder valves on a front wheel. Slowly depress the brake pedal, if the light goes out, stop. Close the bleeder valve and check to see if the light stays out. If the pedal reaches the floor but the light doesn't go out, repeat the same procedure on one of the rear wheels.

Thanks for info! i will do tomorrow night try do bleed brake see if light go off..
and n had not repair for brake before..
Does the brake light come on with the e-brake, too?
It can't. These Fords didn't have a parking brake warning light, there is no switch for it.
The only thing the "BRAKE" warning light indicates is a problem with the hydraulic brakes system. Technically what it indicates is an imbalance between the front and rear brake system pressure.
Just as a side note. I pulled three used switches from the wrecking yards and they were all bad..... That makes 5 counting the 2 I had in spares for my other truck.

The 1967 (all FoMoCo vehicles) low brake fluid warning lamp switch (C7AZ-2B264 A) is 1967 only. The proportioning valves used in 1967 are also 1967 only.
Hi NumberDummy, Is there a replacement wire harness for this brake switch? Mine is damaged in several places. Thx.
The feed wire for the switch is part of another harness. You'll have to find one of the vehicles the switch was used in, cut the feed wire off, splice it to your harness.
Ok, i did work on truck today doing bleed rear and front wheel but brake light wont go away.. so i unplug wiring from valve box light did off!! sound like need new brake sender from valve?????
Possibly but it may still indicate that the piston inside the valve is still not centered. Chilton's procedure is: turn the ignition to the ACC position, check brake fluid level is 1/4'' from top, apply pressure to the pedal to center the piston.

Found one in an F100. Paid $1. Cut and soldered it in with shrink wrap. Works great.
