Ok, I have a 2000 F350 with a 7.3 Diesel. I also jsut had the gears replaced with the 410's. I am running 37X1250's on it with a 6" lift. I need to replace the exhaust system from the turbo back. I am looking for one without the cat and provides me with a much needed boost. I don't care about the stainless steel more interseted in the boost it will give. Any help you can give me........
When you say boost, do you mean more boost from the turbo or more power from the exhaust? If you are looking to have more power with installing a turbo back exhaust, that won't happen. If you do exhaust, intake, gauges, and a chip, then you will feel more power.
You won't see much, if any, gain from an exhaust upgrade. Deleting the stock muffler and replacing it with a piece of 3.5" pipe will give you a little faster turbo spool-up and drop EGT's a little - and sound A LOT different. But SOTP power gains are insignificant. I used a piece of stock exhaust pipe I got from a place that installs aftermaket stuff to replace my muffler - pipe was FREE and I paid the muffler guy $40 to install it. There is no measurable gain from going to a full 4" exhaust system... (don't be fooled ) Fwiw, the factory exhaust is SS and will likely last as long as the truck.
If you feel like power is down - I would strongly recommend you verify ya don't have any drive pressure (up-pipe) leaks or boost leaks before you do anything.
Oh yeah, I still have my kitty - but it has nothing inside it...............
