Hmmm, that could be one of several things. I doubt it is a really expensive fix though. It sounds to me like a good possibility that the IPR is bad, or just needs new o-rings.
I don't know what he means by "throttle relay" unless he is referring to the IVS (Idle Validation Switch) that is on the throttle pedal. I am a little worried about his use of ether on the truck though. That's not a healthy habit for these trucks.
For the price though, I think it is worth it. I think it is a go. At least it would be for me. The body looks clean. The mileage is kinda up there, but I think this thing could be fixed and be a nice truck.
I don't know, it is hard to gauge because there aren't any around here that are in that good condition body wise, but for $1,200 I think I would go check it out unless it is a long way away from you. I am known for buying a "project" though from time to time.
I guess it depends what you want it for. If you're looking for a low mileage excellent condition truck, that's probably not it, but if you need a workhorse for a good price, I think I would look at it.
Like what Nate says, if you look at it don't try to start it or rather fix it (the price may go up if you do) or he may decide not to sell. Just try offering $1000 and see what happens. you can always negotiate. I think it is well worth the price from the description, new trans and other parts, it look pretty good to. If its from Texas it may not be a rust bucket.
Talked to the guy and,he says that high pressure oil pump is bad.he said its near float bowl?anyways it may also be weak. He told me it has to produce like 500 lbs to have injecters to fire off.he also said maybe a valve.he says he bought this way couple years ago and just drove it.he dies pop start at his house few times with starting fluid when out in town.he told me that the starting fluid help rpms get high(er)to produce the 500 lbs to fire injecters.this is his words I don't know.my boss got 07 Cummings and wouldn't start and it was batterys.comments welcome
It's not the hpop. If the hpop cant produce 500psi the truck would not stay running. It's either bad starting system, IPR orings, injector orings, or the motor is shot (low compression)
