its time for me to get new tiresm ive got the stock 17 inch rims and was wondering if i could upgrade from 265 to 285? i imagain so im just wondering though
They are like a regular tire for a bit, then the tread comes off. Sometimes it comes off at highway speeds and wipes out your fender or bedside as it spins around and unravels. or you loose control and crash. You are better off getting an economy tire in the stock size if you are worried about cash. The larger tire costs more $
^ what he said. You are better off buying used tires than re-treads (I know what you mean about being strapped-been there). When a re-tread unpeals from the tire carcass at anything over 20 mph it is a significant event (been there too!). To your vehicle as well as anybody elses nearby.
One other thing....never ever ever ever put retreads on the front. They are dangerous and ileagle in most jurisdictions. So there goes the cheaper factor because the fronts still require virgin rubber.
